Selected Advanced Airman Cadet,
This is the list of uniform and personal items you will need to bring to Advanced Airman
Training.
UNIFORM ITEMS:
1 Blue Coveralls with flashes and name tapes sewn
on
3 dungarees shirts w/the sea cadet flash on each sleeve
3 dungarees
1 black belt w/silver buckle
1 white belt (if you have tropical whites)
1 white jumper or tropical whites (whichever your unit wears) w/sea cadet flashes on each sleeve
I “Dixie” cup (if you are a male)
1 white combination cover or garrison cap (if you are a female)
1 sea cadet ball cap or your unit ball cap
1 black neckerchief (if you are wearing Jumper Whites)
1 pair of boondockers with steel toes or flight boots with steel toes. NO EXCEPTIONS!
1 pair of black dress shoes
5 white T-shirts
5 pair of black socks
5 pair underwear (at least one must be white for your summer/tropical whites)
PERSONAL ITEMS:
Sunscreen
Personal toiletry (shampoo, soap, shaving needs, toothbrush and toothpaste, etc.)
Insect Repellent (non aerosol)
Feminine hygiene products (if you are a female)
OTHER: (Not optional)
Swimsuit (1 piece if you are a female)
Sneakers or athletic shoes
4 pair of athletic socks
2 or 3 pair of athletic shorts, no short-shorts or cut-offs
3 PT-type T-shirts
Laundry powder
Pen and notebook
Spending money (to be determined by your parents/guardians)
$50.00 should be plenty
NOTES:
1. The COTC does
not have coveralls to issue for your training. YOU
NEED to bring your own coveralls, be sure the sea cadet flash is sewn
on each sleeve along with ratings on the collar.
2. Optional: Olive drab flight suit with sea cadet flashes (olive drab) on each sleeve, for flights
and the simulator only.
3. Towels, sheets,
and pillows will be provided, but bring your own pillow if you wish.
You will be doing laundry, so make sure your name and the last four digits of your SSN
are marked on all of your clothing.
4. Civilian clothes are allowed,
but must be appropriate. Shorts must be of walking-short length. No tank tops
or tube shirts. No open- toed shoes in the Galley. The COTC has the final word as to what is, and what is not, appropriate.
